Watr – Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Watr (“the App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), provided by Vincent Charmeau, handles your information.

The short version: the App runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. We operate no servers, and we use no analytics or advertising SDKs.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. The App has no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

To work as a water tracker, the App keeps a small amount of information locally on your iPhone (and, if you use it, your Apple Watch). This includes:

• Your drink history, such as the drinks you log, their amounts and times, your daily totals, and streaks.
• Your preferences, such as your daily goal, units, favorite drinks, and reminder times.
• Any details you choose to enter in the optional goal helper, such as gender, weight, activity level, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. These are used only on your device to suggest a daily goal, and every one of them is optional.
• Whether you have Watr Pro and how many free drinks you have used.

This information never leaves your device except as described in sections 3 and 4 below. It is deleted when you delete the App.

3. Apple Watch and Home Screen Widget

If you use the Watr Watch app, today's progress, your goal, units, and favorite drinks, and the drinks you log on your wrist are synced directly between your iPhone and your Apple Watch using Apple's device-to-device connection. This sync does not pass through any server operated by us.

If you add the Watr widget to your Home Screen, the App shares today's progress with the widget on your device. This stays on your device.

4. Purchases and Payments

• Some features may require a paid upgrade (Watr Pro). Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and Apple's payment terms and privacy policy apply. We never see your payment details.
• To verify and manage purchases, the App uses RevenueCat, a purchase management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-generated identifier and App Store purchase information (such as product identifier, purchase and expiration dates, and Apple's transaction receipt). It does not receive your name, email address, drink history, or anything you enter in the goal helper. For more information, see RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
• Apple may provide us with aggregated, non-identifying sales and download statistics through App Store Connect.

5. Reminders and Notifications

If you turn on reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are created and delivered entirely on your device; no notification data is sent to us.

6. Sharing Your Painting

When you reach your daily goal, you can choose to share an image of the day's painting using your device's share sheet. Sharing happens only when you start it, and the image goes only to the app or person you pick. It is not sent to us.

7. Contacting Support

If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you write in your message, along with the App version that is filled in for you. We use this only to reply to you.

8. Third-Party Services

• We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not sell your data.
• The only third parties involved are Apple (App Store, Apple Watch, widgets, and notifications) and RevenueCat (purchase management), as described above.

9. Legal Bases (EEA/UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom: the limited purchase information shared with RevenueCat is processed because it is necessary to perform our contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), namely providing the upgrade you purchased. All other information stays on your device and is not processed by us.

10. Data Security

Because your information is stored only on your device, it is protected by your device's own security features, such as your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID, and by your device backups. We recommend keeping your device up to date and protected with a passcode.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

Your drink history and preferences remain on your device for as long as the App is installed. You can edit or delete individual drinks in the App at any time, and deleting the App removes all of this information. Purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained according to their respective policies.

12. Your Rights and Choices

• You can view, change, and delete your data at any time in the App, or remove all of it by deleting the App.
• You can turn reminders off at any time in the App or in your device settings, and you can leave the goal helper blank.
• Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because we hold no personal data about you, most of these rights are fulfilled directly by you on your device. For questions, contact us at the address below.

13. Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13.

14. International Transfers

We do not transfer your personal data internationally because we do not collect it. RevenueCat may process the limited purchase information described above on servers outside your country, subject to appropriate safeguards under its own policies.

15. Terms of Use

Your use of the App is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at this page, and the effective date above will be updated. If changes are material, we will take additional steps as required by law.
